About Checksum Calculator
Software sites often publish a checksum next to a download so you can confirm the file arrived complete and unaltered. This tool calculates the MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 checksums of any file. Paste the checksum from the download page and it tells you right away whether it matches. You can check many files at once, copy any hash, or save them all as a text file. Large files such as disk images work too, limited only by your device's memory.

Questions
Which checksum should I use?
Use whichever the download page lists. SHA-256 is the modern standard. MD5 and SHA-1 are fine for spotting damaged downloads but not for security.
What does it mean if the checksum doesn't match?
The file differs from the one the publisher made. It may be incomplete, damaged or a different version. Download it again from the official site.
Does uppercase or lowercase matter?
No. Hashes are compared without regard to letter case or spaces.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Checksums are calculated in your browser.
