About Decrypt File

This tool opens .enc files created with Encrypt File on this site. Add the encrypted file, type the password, and the original file is restored with its original name. Every chunk of the file is checked as it's decrypted, so a wrong password or a damaged or tampered file is reported clearly instead of producing garbage. Add the .enc file, type the password you used when encrypting it, and download the original. Any file locked with Encrypt File can be restored this way, whatever its type. Keep your password somewhere safe: without it the file cannot be recovered.

Questions

It says wrong password. What can I do?

Passwords are case-sensitive; check Caps Lock and try any variations you might have used. Without the right password the file can't be opened.

Can it open files encrypted by other apps?

No. It only reads files made with Encrypt File on this site. Use the original app for files from 7-Zip, VeraCrypt or others.

What does "failed the integrity check" mean?

Part of the file was changed or is missing, for example from an interrupted download. Get a complete copy.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Decryption happens in your browser.
