About BMP to JPG
BMP files store every pixel without compression, so a single photo can take 20 or 30 MB, far too big to email or upload to most websites. Converting to JPG typically makes the same image ten to twenty times smaller with no visible difference at a good quality setting. This converter reads your bitmaps, lets you choose the JPG quality and an optional maximum size, and saves each one as a standard JPG. Old scanner output, Paint images and screenshots from older Windows software all work, in batches.

Questions
How much smaller will the JPG be?
Usually 90 to 95 percent smaller for photos. Simple graphics shrink a lot too, but PNG may suit them better, since it keeps edges perfectly sharp.
Will I lose quality?
JPG is lossy, but at 85 to 95 percent quality the difference is very hard to see. Use BMP to PNG if you need every pixel exactly.
What happens to transparent areas?
JPG has no transparency, so they're filled with the background colour from the options, white by default.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Conversion happens in your browser and the files stay on your device.
