About AAC to MP3
AAC is the audio format of iTunes, YouTube downloads, many voice recorders and the audio track of MP4 videos. It sounds great, but some car stereos, older MP3 players, DJ software and upload forms still only take MP3. This converter reads raw .aac files as well as .m4a and .m4b audiobooks, and saves them as MP3 at the bitrate you choose, in stereo or mono. Convert a single clip or a whole batch, then download them one by one or together.
How to Use It
- 01
Add AAC files
Drop .aac, .m4a or .m4b files into the box.
- 02
Pick a bitrate
Choose at least the original's bitrate; 192 kbps suits most music.
- 03
Download
Press Convert, then save the MP3s.
Questions
Does converting lose quality?
A little, because both formats are lossy. Use a bitrate equal to or higher than the original to keep the loss small.
Do audiobook chapters survive?
No. The audio becomes one continuous MP3 without chapter marks.
Why won't a file convert?
Some AAC files use protected (DRM) or unusual codecs your browser can't decode, such as purchases from some stores.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Conversion runs in your browser.
