About FLAC to MP3
FLAC keeps every detail of a CD or hi-res download, but the files are large and many car stereos, older players and some apps can't play them. MP3 at 256 or 320 kbps sounds nearly identical for most listeners at a quarter of the size or less. Add one album or a whole folder of tracks, pick a bitrate, and convert them. Choose mono for spoken-word recordings to halve the size again. Keep your FLAC originals as the master copies.

Questions
Will I hear a difference?
At 256 or 320 kbps, most people can't tell an MP3 from the FLAC original on everyday equipment.
Are tags like artist and album kept?
Not yet. The audio is converted, but you may need to re-add tags in your music app.
Do hi-res 24-bit FLACs work?
Yes. They're converted to 44.1 kHz MP3, the standard for MP3 players.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The FLAC is decoded and encoded in your browser.
