About Empty ZIP File
An empty ZIP archive is useful for testing how an app handles uploads, how an unzip tool reacts to no content, or for satisfying a form that insists on a ZIP file. This generator creates a valid archive. The completely empty option is the smallest possible ZIP: 22 bytes, holding only the end-of-archive record that every ZIP needs. The second option adds one empty folder with a name you choose, which some systems handle differently from a fully empty archive. Both open in Windows, macOS and any unzip tool.

Questions
Is a 22-byte ZIP really valid?
Yes. A ZIP with no entries still needs its end-of-central-directory record, which is exactly 22 bytes. Windows, macOS and unzip tools open it and show no files.
Why would I want an empty folder inside?
Some programs treat an archive with no entries as an error but accept one with an empty folder. It is a useful second test case.
Can I put my own files in a ZIP?
Yes. The Create ZIP tool zips files you choose, entirely in your browser.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The archive is built in your browser.
