About Trim Audio

Trim silence from the start of a recording, cut a ringtone out of a song, shorten a voice note, or keep just one answer from an interview. Add an audio file and its waveform appears: drag the start and end of the highlighted area, or type exact times, then press Play selection to check it. Add a fade in or fade out for a smooth start and finish, and save the result as MP3, WAV or OGG. It works with MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus and FLAC.

Questions

How precise is the trim?

Down to a tenth of a second when typing times, such as 1:23.4. The waveform is good for finding the right spot by eye.

Can I make an iPhone ringtone?

Yes. Trim to 40 seconds or less, then convert the MP3 to M4A and rename it .m4r, or use GarageBand.

Which formats can I save?

MP3, WAV or OGG. Same type as the original saves WAV for WAV and FLAC, OGG for OGG and Opus, and MP3 for the rest.

Is my audio uploaded?

No. It's decoded, trimmed and encoded in your browser.
