About Silent MP3
A silent audio track is surprisingly useful. Video editors use it to pad timelines, podcasters add gaps between segments, developers need it for testing players and upload limits, and some phones and smart speakers need a short silent file to keep an audio session alive. Choose the length, from a tenth of a second to an hour, the sample rate, mono or stereo, and the MP3 bitrate. You can also switch to WAV or AIFF for uncompressed silence. It's useful as a spacer, a placeholder or a test file.

Is the audio completely silent?
Yes. Every sample is digital zero, so there's no hiss or noise.
How big will the file be?
An MP3 at 128 kbps takes about 1 MB per minute. WAV and AIFF are uncompressed, about 10 MB per minute in stereo at 44.1 kHz.
Why is my MP3 slightly longer than I asked?
MP3 encoders add a few milliseconds of padding at the start and end. Use WAV if you need the exact sample count.
