About Blank SQLite Database

SQLite stores a whole database in one file, which makes it ideal for apps, prototypes, tests and data projects. This tool creates a properly formatted, empty SQLite 3 database, one 4 KB page with an empty schema, as .sqlite, .db or .sqlite3. Open it in DB Browser for SQLite, DBeaver or TablePlus, or point your code at it and create your tables. Unlike a zero-byte file, it has a valid header, so tools that check the format before opening accept it.

How to Use It

  1. 01

    Choose an extension

Pick .sqlite, .db or .sqlite3; they're all the same format.

  2. 02

    Press Create Database.

  3. 03

    Open it

Open it in DB Browser for SQLite or your code, and create tables.

Questions

Is it a real SQLite database?

Yes. It has a valid SQLite 3 header and an empty schema table, and passes SQLite's integrity check.

Which page size does it use?

4096 bytes, SQLite's default. You can change it with PRAGMA page_size before creating tables.

Can I create tables in my browser here?

No. This gives you the file; use DB Browser for SQLite or the sqlite3 command to add tables.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The file is generated in your browser.
