About Change Volume
Voice memos recorded too quietly, songs at different volumes, or a clip that's far too loud: this tool fixes the level. Raise or lower the volume by a set number of decibels, or normalise it so the loudest moment reaches a standard level, such as minus 1 dBFS, which makes quiet recordings as loud as they can be without distortion. By default the boost is limited to stop clipping, the harsh crackle you hear when audio is pushed past its maximum. Works with batches, and saves MP3, WAV or OGG.

Questions
What does +6 dB mean?
Roughly twice as loud in signal level. Every 6 dB doubles or halves the amplitude.
What is normalising?
Scaling the audio so its loudest peak hits a target level, like −1 dBFS. Quiet files get louder; the balance within the file doesn't change.
Why wasn't my file made as loud as I asked?
It would have clipped and distorted. The tool limits the boost unless you tick Allow clipping. The note on each file shows what was applied.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Volume is changed in your browser.
