About EXIF Remover

Photos can reveal more than you mean to share: your home's GPS coordinates, the phone you use and the exact time you took the picture. This tool removes EXIF, XMP and IPTC metadata, comments and editing history from JPG, PNG and WebP images. It edits the file directly instead of re-saving the picture, so the image itself is untouched and keeps its full quality. By default it keeps the rotation flag, so photos stay upright, and the colour profile, so colours look the same.

How to Use It

  1. 01

    Add photos

Drop one or more JPG, PNG or WebP photos into the box.

  2. 02

    Check the options

Keep the rotation flag and colour profile ticked unless you want them gone too.

  3. 03

    Download

Press Remove Metadata and download the clean photos or a ZIP.

Questions

Does removing metadata reduce quality?

No. The image data is copied byte for byte. Only the metadata blocks are taken out, so the file usually gets slightly smaller.

Why keep the rotation flag?

Phones often store photos sideways with a flag saying how to turn them. Without it, some photos would show up rotated. The flag reveals nothing about you.

Can I remove metadata from HEIC photos?

Convert them with HEIC to JPG, which removes metadata unless you choose to keep it.

How can I check that the metadata is gone?

Open the cleaned photo in the EXIF Viewer. It should show only basic image fields.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Metadata is removed in your browser.
