About QR Code Reader

Got a QR code in a screenshot, a PDF you've saved as an image, or a photo? You don't need to hold your phone up to the screen. Add the image here and the reader finds the code and shows what it contains: a web address, Wi-Fi network name and password, contact card, email, phone number or plain text. Long contents can be copied with one click or saved as a text file. Links are shown, not opened, so you can check where a code leads before you visit it.

Questions

Why can't it find the QR code?

Make sure the whole code is visible, with some empty space around it, and that the photo is in focus. Very small, blurry or heavily angled codes are hard to read; crop closer and try again.

Can it read several QR codes in one image?

It reads one code per image. Crop the image to each code to read them separately.

Is it safe to open the link?

The link is shown, not opened, so you can check the address first. Be wary of shortened links or addresses that imitate a well-known site.

Does it read barcodes too?

No, only QR codes. Ordinary product barcodes use a different format.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The image is decoded and read in your browser and never leaves your device.
