About Compare PDFs
When a contract, policy or report comes back revised, reading both versions side by side is slow and easy to get wrong. Add the original and the new PDF, and this tool extracts the text of every page and compares them line by line, ignoring differences in spacing. You get a summary of how many lines were added and removed, the pages that changed, and a list of every change marked with plus and minus signs and page numbers, which you can copy or download. It compares text, not layout or images.

Questions
Does it compare images and formatting?
No. It compares the text. Changes to layout, fonts, colours or pictures aren't detected.
Can it compare scanned PDFs?
Not directly, since scans have no text. Run each through Scanned PDF to Text, then compare the results with Text Diff.
Why are moved paragraphs shown as removed and added?
A line-by-line comparison sees text that moved as removed from one place and added in another.
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. Both PDFs are read and compared in your browser.
