About Excel to CSV
Many apps, databases and import forms accept CSV but not Excel files. This tool converts .xlsx workbooks to CSV, without needing Excel installed. Each sheet becomes its own CSV file, or you can export just the first sheet. Dates are written in a clear year-month-day format instead of Excel's internal numbers, formulas are exported as their last calculated values, and text with commas or line breaks is quoted properly. Choose a comma, semicolon or tab delimiter. Workbooks with several sheets produce one CSV per sheet, downloaded together as a ZIP.

Questions
Does it work with old .xls files?
No. The old binary .xls format isn't supported. Open the file in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice and save it as .xlsx first.
What happens to formulas?
Each cell's last calculated value is exported, the same as Excel's own Save as CSV.
How are dates written?
As year-month-day, for example 2026-03-15, with times added when a cell has one. That format sorts correctly and imports cleanly everywhere.
Is my spreadsheet uploaded?
No. The workbook is read in your browser.
