About FBX Files
FBX is Autodesk's format for exchanging 3D scenes, including meshes, materials, skeletons, animations, cameras and lights. Game engines such as Unity and Unreal, and 3D apps such as Maya, 3ds Max and Blender, import FBX, which makes it a standard for moving animated characters between tools. The format is proprietary, so some details may change between apps.
How to Open an FBX File
- Windows & Mac
- Open it in Blender, Autodesk FBX Review, Maya or 3ds Max, or import it into Unity or Unreal.
