About EML Files
An EML file contains one complete email in the standard internet message format: headers such as sender, recipient, date and subject, the body as text or HTML, and any attachments encoded inside. Thunderbird, Apple Mail and Outlook can save and open EML files. Because it's plain text, you can also open one in a text editor to see the raw headers, which is useful for checking where a suspicious email really came from.
How to Open an EML File
- Windows
- Double-click to open it in Outlook, the Mail app or Thunderbird.
- Mac

- Any device
