About DXF Files
DXF was created by Autodesk so other programs could exchange drawings with AutoCAD. It's widely supported by CAD software, laser cutters, CNC machines and vector editors. DXF can be text or binary and holds lines, arcs, layers and blocks. If a machine or service asks for a vector file for cutting, DXF is often what it wants.

DXF File Questions
Can I open DXF in Illustrator or Inkscape?
Yes. Both import DXF, though complex CAD features may simplify.
Why is my DXF scaled wrong?
DXF files don't always store units. Set the units to millimetres or inches when importing.
