About AZW3 Files
AZW3, also called KF8, is Amazon's eBook format introduced in 2011 to replace MOBI. It supports richer layout, fonts and HTML5-style formatting. Books bought from the Kindle store are usually protected with DRM, so they only open in Kindle devices and apps linked to your account. DRM-free AZW3 files, such as ones made with Calibre, can be converted to EPUB and read anywhere.
How to Open an AZW3 File
- Kindle
- Copy the file to the documents folder over USB.
- Windows & Mac
- Open it in the Kindle app or Calibre (for files without DRM).
- iPhone & Android
- Use the Kindle app.
AZW3 File Questions
